Day One:  Orientation in San Sebastian de los Reyes, Aragua.  We will be staying at a cooperative posada in a small, peaceful colonial town.  Events that day may include visits to an agricultural cooperative and a peasant farmer council. 

Day Two:  Tour of San Sebastian de los Reyes and the countryside.  Meet with doctors at the Integrated Community Healthcare Clinic.  Cultural event in the evening with local Bolivarian Youth Orchestra. 

Day Three:  Rómulo Gallegos National Experimental University in San Juan de los Morros, Guarico.  Tour the free university campus; meet with professors and students; tour community development projects run by the students.  Leave for Carora, Lara state after lunch.  Travel through Carabobo, Yaracuy states. 

Day Four:  Carora - Meet with mayor and members of the citizen participation team.  Hear about the participatory budget and the communal councils.  Visits to communal council projects, including a communal bank. 

Day Five:  Visit a community radio station.  Get to know the Barrio Adentro I and II health programs (Inside the Neighbourhood) in Rio Tocuyo – a community-based, free, preventative healthcare program.  Learn more about Venezuela's participatory democracy and the communal councils. 

Day Six:  Depart Carora for Quibor/Sanare – visit Las Lajitas organic agricultural cooperative and/or Parque Nacional Yacambu.  Stay at Casa Campesino in Las Lajitas. 

Day Seven:  Travel from Sanare to the coastal community of Choroní/Puerto Colombia. 

Day Eight (Saturday, May 17):  Visit the remote village of Chuao (a former slave colony) by boat.  Meet with community members and visit community projects – a cocoa cooperative, local health clinic, community-built dignified housing, and communal council. 

Day Nine:  Free day. 

Day Ten:  Depart Choroni for Caracas.  Tour Casa Natal de Bolivar, Plaza Bolivar, National Assembly.  Evening flight to Canada.
