TOUR LEADERS
Canadian tour leaders are Jay Hartling and Ronald Chavez – two long-time Latin America solidarity activists. Jay and Ronald have travelled, lived and studied extensively in Latin America. Both are experienced interpreters.

Jay has travelled extensively in Venezuela, and did her graduate studies on participatory democracy in Carora, Venezuela. She has also written articles on Venezuela, is a regular contributor on Venezuela to radio and for the past 10 years has been part of a radio collective that produces a bilingual program on Latin America. While living in Vancouver, she was a member of the Vancouver Internationalist Bolivarian Circle “Bob Everton”.

Ronald is originally from El Salvador, community worker and social activist. Currently teaches Spanish in Halifax/Dartmouth. He has also travelled in Central and South America. He is a member of the radio collective America Latina Al Dia.
ALBASOL TOURS works with local community members in Venezuela who will join the tour group in different locations as guides and interpreters to talk about specific issues.
